Paderborn University, a public German institution with minimal tuition fees, has secured a spot in the 501-600 ranking group in the 2025 edition of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. This prestigious ranking evaluated 2,092 universities across 115 countries and territories, using key indicators such as Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry Collaboration, and International Outlook.
Since its last participation, Paderborn University has shown significant progress in all evaluation areas. University President Prof. Dr. Birgitt Riegraf expressed her pride in the accomplishment, stating, “This ranking highlights the improvements we’ve made in research, teaching, and innovation.”

Paderborn University stood out particularly in the categories of research environment and industrial cooperation, ranking among the top 280 and 340 institutions worldwide in these areas, respectively.
