It’s one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world and is also, unsurprisingly, one of the best places in the world to study engineering and science subjects. Aside from the UK, Germany is the highest-ranked European country in international rankings such as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the QS Rankings. 1. Civil Engineering


A qualification in civil engineering from a top German university will place you in a strong position when furthering your studies or entering the job market. Where better to study the subject than Technische Universität München (TUM)? It’s the top-ranked German university for engineering and is the 53rd best university in the world in the Times Higher Rankings. TUM has double degree agreements with more than 20 universities and partnerships with around 170 universities worldwide, so it is incredibly well connected.

2. Physics & Astronomy


Another fantastic field of study in Germany is physics and astronomy, which benefits from funding in research from the German government. Whether you want a career as a research physicist or to become the next expert on black holes and the Universe, the prospect of studying Physics is Germany is very exciting! Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München is the top-ranked university in the QS subject rankings for this field of study, followed by TUM, Ruprecht-Karls-Universitaet Heidelberg and KIT, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Studying IT should be seen as an investment in the future.
