The University of Tasmania is now accepting applications for the Tasmanian International Scholarship, a prestigious award aimed at rewarding academic excellence among new international students. This scholarship offers a significant benefit: a 25% reduction in tuition fees for the entire duration of the student’s selected programme, providing substantial financial relief.
Who is Eligible?
The scholarship is exclusively available to new students enrolling in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees at the university. However, it excludes certain programmes, including the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Dementia Care, and AMC Seafaring courses. Importantly, this scholarship is not available to current students, as it does not reassess based on their academic performance once enrolled.
The award is based on the student’s highest qualification obtained before beginning their programme at the University of Tasmania. To qualify, the prior qualification must have had a minimum duration of one year. Students will be automatically considered for this scholarship upon applying, so no separate application is necessary.
Opportunities for Further Scholarships
In addition to the Tasmanian International Scholarship, students can apply for a successive scholarship after completing their first semester. This opportunity allows international students to increase their scholarship value, depending on their grade performance during that semester.
Scholarship Terms and Conditions
As grading systems and qualifications differ across countries, applicants will receive a notification of their scholarship status in the offer letter issued by the university. This letter will include all the necessary terms and conditions, which applicants are encouraged to review thoroughly.
