China and India Takes the Lead in Sending International Students to Germany
China has taken the lead as the country sending the highest number of international students to German universities, with a total of 40,012 students in 2022. However, India has now topped the list for countries sending first-semester students to Germany, surpassing China with an impressive count of 42,600 students in 2023. This demonstrates the diverse and global reach of German universities in attracting students from around the world.
Increasing Number of Ukrainian Students Choosing Germany
Furthermore, recent reports indicate a substantial increase in the number of Ukrainian students studying in Germany, totaling 9,100. This growth can be attributed to the top-ranking universities such as Technische Universität München, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, which have been instrumental in drawing in these international students with their renowned academic programs and research opportunities.
